Do You Push Your Workouts?

Ok so I am still fairly new to working out. I never did sports, never worked out, never ran or exercised I was a band geek in school and pretty darn good at the clarinet too! any who. During the past year I have been focusing on weights and learning new things thanks to my husband showing me how with the dumbbells we have here at home. I started walking last year, yea big whoop she walks LOL WELL it was a big deal for me! It took me 20 minutes to powerwalk one mile, now I can walk AND JOG!! yes I can RUN now! I can get in 5 miles in one hour! As a former smoker running to the corner was tough for me and that is just about 4 houses away LOL. I can run on the treadmill for 5minutes straight and complete a mile in ten minutes! I can curl 30pounds, shoulder press 20, single arm rows with 45pounds! Even real push ups!! not the girlie on your knee kind like I have done in the past…real man push ups I can do 20 at a clip! that is impressive still cannot do a pull up though. I can do push ups with one leg up now!

I googled exercises and asked my husband certain moves and typed up a sheet on word and now I use that as my guide and keep track of my workouts. I keep a tally of reps and change the weights if needed and on the right side I track my miles and cardio workouts. I also use this great app called Strava, it even can track swimming, biking, hiking, rollerblading and all! It tracks speed and distance and is pretty accurate!

Today, August 14, 2021 I pushed it! Did not do weights today but I did walk/jog and it was feel like 93 at 8am! BOY did I sweat! OMG and my legs were sore from the weights I did yesterday, there was a fly going around my head and in and out of my right ear, I had to pee, just was not feeling it but made myself keep going. I did NOT get my usual 5 miles in an hour as you can see above but at least I got it in! and then yes I jumped right into the pool clothes on and all.

Now with all that I have been doing for a year I have toned and I am stronger I feel and see it in the pictures BUT I HAVEN’T LOST A DAMN POUND! But you too can see in the pictures the difference the weights and cardio has made on my body. Learning to accept that and still be ok with some of the mom pudge is another story lol. I am stronger, I am in much better health, I can run and jog which I never have done before and curl 30 pounds and do real push ups!!! So I will keep trucking and keep toning. NOW to work on those pull ups hahahahaha.
